About Me

Hi, I'm Miku and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #45206) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor registered in California. I was born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Los Angeles, California. I earned my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and my Bachelors of Arts in sociology and anthropology from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. I received extensive training at The Road Ahead Family Services working with a diverse range of adults, teenagers, families, and couples navigating complex trauma, life transitions, and relational issues. Additionally, I received unique training in working with the geriatric population with dementia and their caregivers at OPICA Adult Day Care Program & Counseling Center located in Los Angeles, CA. I was trained as a Powerful Tools for Caregivers Leader - to facilitate groups - organized by Iowa State University.

I am currently supervised by Dr. Teyhou Smyth LMFT#115137 as I expand my practice and expertise.
